Why Choose Us?
Who Self Healing 4D Serves
You’ve likely found your way here after trying everything else and concluding that conventional “1D” medicine and “1D” psychology, while having a place, leave the deepest causes of suffering untouched:
• People exhausted by failed treatments, searching for root causes beyond “take this pill forever.”
• People who’ve been marked by family or society, whose bodies started speaking when their voices were silenced.
• People carrying ACE scores of 3-7, knowing their childhood predicts their health, seeking witnessed exploration and acknowledgment.
• People ready for consciousness-as-ground healing, recognizing their symptoms as invitations to a deeper self-awareness.
If you’ve ever thought “there has to be more to this than symptom suppression” or “my body is trying to tell me something,” you’re right. And you’re in the right place.
What Self Healing 4D Offers
We share the 4D Self-Healing Framework, a consciousness-as-ground exploration of reality for recognizing the meaningful invitation of your symptoms:
• Physical (Archaeology): What was happening when symptoms began? Where is consciousness expressing through bodymind?
• Cognitive (Translation): What stories, beliefs, and social contracts are you unconsciously upholding?
• Emotional (Witnessing): What couldn’t be felt then? Emotion is the gateway; consciousness-as-ground recognizing itself through feeling, not thinking.
• Consciousness-as-Ground (Pilgrimage): You are not your symptoms. You are consciousness-as-ground having an experience. From here, everything shifts.
We don’t do this work alone. Healing happens through witnessed relationship, such as in peer-to-peer communities like Grounded, which serves for our mutual exploration and reciprocal presence. No guru positioning. No hierarchy. Just humans being the work together.
Our Non-Negotiable’s
The following principles have primacy in everything we do:
1. Consciousness is primary. Not matter. Not biology. Consciousness-as-ground is the foundation from which all experience emerges.
2. There is no separation. Not mind and body. Not integration. It’s bodymind. Wholeperson. Oneness.
3. Symptoms are meaningful. Not random. Not mechanical failure. Your bodymind speaking what couldn’t be spoken.
4. Healing requires feeling. You cannot think your way to meaningful awakening. You must feel your way there.
5. Radical inclusion. Everyone and their shadow is welcome who takes responsibility for their own healing. The marginalized, the victimized, the criminalized, the “messy” healers: we all have value, something to offer, and we all belong. In our community, we each have “unacceptable” parts as well as “acceptable” ones, and the opportunity to learn from others’ experiences. We don’t differentiate between “good” and “bad.” If you see such things in others, it’s only because you first recognize them in yourself.
6. Peer witnessing, not guru fixing. We facilitate. We don’t fix. Only consciousness-as-ground recognizing itself through you can do that.
7. We don’t water this down. We don’t compromise to seem more “acceptable.” The people ready for this work will recognize themselves. The people not ready will self-select out. Both are perfect.
8. Our pain is ours to own, not to transmit. We’re human. We’re wounded. We’re learning. When harm occurs, we take responsibility for our part, we repair, we learn. We don’t weaponize our victimhood or use our trauma history as justification for transmitting pain. Triggers are breadcrumbs back to YOUR healing, not evidence that someone else needs to change. We feel our pain, process it, and break the cycle by doing our own work.
Why Self Healing 4D Exists
Self Healing 4D exists because consciousness-as-ground, the formlessness from which you experience your unique awareness of self, doesn’t need you to be “fixed.” Authentic healing demands your recognition, acceptance, and surrender.
So we’re not here to offer you another healing modality, another supplement or protocol, another expert with all the talk and little of the walk.
We’re here to help you recognize what your symptoms have been trying to tell you all along:
You’re not broken. And your bodymind is speaking.
Your chronic illness, the A to Z of human suffering that keeps you from your well-being birthright, isn’t random biology and you drew the genetic short straw. Nor is it “just trauma,” and you were born and raised into the “wrong” family.
Your suffering, however you define it, is the formlessness of consciousness expressing itself through the form of your bodymind.
And while it’s comforting to believe you’re responsible for...
none of it: the so-called “physical” diseases like autoimmune conditions, cancer, cardiovascular disease, and GERD;
some of it: the so-called “mental” disorders, including addictions, compulsions, obsessions, and mood disorders;
or all of it: placing you in truly rarified air—
...the truth is that authentic healing doesn’t require blame. But it does require you take responsibility.
Yes, your chronic illness is the experience you couldn’t process when it happened because it wasn’t safe. Because there was no witness present to your suffering. Because survival required an adaptation that served you perfectly at the time.
Yes, your chronic illness is also the later-life echoes of the same event, manifesting in a different experience because that perfect adaptation now demands your ongoing attention until you heed its healing call.
And it’s also present expressions, including thoughts, beliefs, embodied sensations, feelings. Meanwhile, your symptoms—consciousness-as-ground expressed through suffering—are calling you home.
Two Archaic Assumptions of Medicine
“Modern” medicine isn’t as modern as you might think. It’s based on two critical assumptions, one of which is almost 400 years old, and the other more than 170 years old.
Let’s look at the nearest of these assumptions first. Western medicine or “biomedicine” operates from scientific materialism: your “body” is a machine, symptoms are mechanical failures, and treatment means suppression.
The persistent and devastating assumption of scientific materialism is that biology creates your consciousness, in the process relegating your subjective experiences as secondary, and unimportant. The worldview that continues today is that matter (your body) has first cause. “Mind” is a secondary phenomenon and is not part of any objective or measurable signs and symptoms that the biomedical model is allowed to witness or “see.”
The older assumption is the more pernicious of the two. It is the dualistic assumption that insists mind and body are separate, and consequently also separates your story from your disease.
“We have severed mind and body from story and disease. In Western culture, this severance is several centuries underway and the cost to individual and community health is enormous.”

The Paradigm Shift
At Self Healing 4D, we call time on this paradigmatic stubbornness. We offer instead a philosophy that is academically robust, and has great support even within the scientific community, elements of which are steadily progressing toward the acceptance that consciousness is the formless, foundational fabric of all that is.
We operate from a consciousness-as-ground philosophy: “body” and “mind” co-emerge from the infinite field in such a way that any attempt at their separation is meaningless. Your bodymind is unified wholeness, its symptoms are meaningful communications, and healing requires exploration. Layer by layer through the shallow physical and cognitive dimensions, and into the deeper feeling dimension and consciousness-as-ground itself.
It’s from this deepest dimension of consciousness-as-ground that you come to recognize yourself not as a bodymind, but as consciousness-as-ground itself having an experience as YOU.
This isn’t alternative medicine. This isn’t complementary care. This is a different paradigm entirely.
Here at Self Healing 4D, we’re not about medicine at all. We don’t offer another “treatment” for your symptoms. And we don’t regard your symptoms in isolation from your story. We recognize symptoms and stories as inseparable because consciousness and embodied experience aren’t separate things that need “integrating.” They’re oneness expressing itself simultaneously through different dimensions: physical, cognitive, emotional, and consciousness-as-ground itself.
Hi, I’m Howard

...and I’m a deeply flawed human being.
My subjective history has also taught me that I’m a being having a human experience.
If that lands a little differently, it’s because I’m a philosopher–scientist and advocate who places the highest value on lived experience and human subjectivity. Right now, my own practice is simple: showing up in truth, breathing, and feeling. Beyond that, I offer a perspective that may provide a lens worth exploring.
I am not your healer, your guru, or your expert. Only you can be those things.
I live simply, off-grid, few possessions, doing my own personal work and walking my own meaningful awakening path; with peace at the heart of my explorations.
I hold a PhD in immunology. A postgraduate diploma in MindBody healthcare science. I’m an award-winning author. I spent nearly twenty years working inside the medical–pharmaceutical industrial complex. I’ve spent much of my life embedded in society’s interwoven systems, and despite my résumé, that’s not what I’m about.
But immersion has consequences. Combined with a curious nature, it’s given me a clear view of how these systems function, and why they require people to remain pathologized, behaviorized, victimized, criminalized, stigmatized, and silenced.
Not because medicine is evil. Not because Big Pharma and other “machine-complexes” are cartoon villainy. Not because psychology is fundamentally misguided.
But because reversing chronic illness, addictions, and maladaptive behaviors isn’t good for business.
Once you’re diagnosed with a disease like GERD, you’re not meant to heal from it and live free of PPIs and restrictive diets. You’re not meant to experience lifelong allergies disappearing entirely for two years and then return because the next layer requires your deserving focus in order to unfold into wholeness. And you’re not meant to overcome addiction.
But consciousness doesn’t give a fuck about their business model.
The Longer View
I didn't arrive at this work through academic curiosity. I arrived through my own bodymind.
My early childhood unfolded in an era when the pharmaceutical industry had aggressively embedded itself in GP prescribing culture, and GPs rarely questioned the patriarchal authority demanding the prescription. Children whose behavior didn’t conform were chemically straightjacketed. I was one of them. Before I had language, my bodymind was already communicating what my voice could not. That pattern, the bodymind speaking through symptom and behavior what the mouth cannot say, became the central thread of my life.
The symptoms that followed across decades were not random. Allergies, asthma, GERD, chronic pain, trichotillomania, sex addiction, social anxiety. Each one, in retrospect, a coherent message from a bodymind trying to be heard. At the time they looked like a broken life. From where I stand now, they look like a curriculum.
The pharmaceutical career was not a detour from this. It was the wound finding its logical expression. Nineteen years inside the machinery designed to profit from suffering gave me something no academic training could: a clear-eyed view of why the system works exactly as intended, and why healing from within it requires a fundamentally different premise.
At thirty-seven I healed my GERD. Not through medication, not through dietary restriction, but by excavating the story beneath the symptom. The stomach as a vessel for sufficiency. The acid as the bodymind’s protest against an unexamined narrative of scarcity. When I understood what my bodymind had been communicating, the symptom no longer had a function. It dissolved. I haven’t taken even a painkiller since 2008.
At forty-two I stopped pulling my hair. Twenty-eight years of trichotillomania, a primitive self-soothing pattern that had begun in adolescence, but was rooted in something far older. I found its somatic metaphor almost by accident, reading a PubMed abstract on boredom in analysis. Words like emptiness, desolation, despair. I tapped acupressure points as I read. Something shifted in a way I cannot fully explain and do not need to. Consciousness-as-ground recognized itself. The pattern released.
These are not success stories. They are proof of a process. The same process is available to you.
The work is not about fixing what is broken. You are not broken. It is about learning to hear what your bodymind has been communicating through every symptom, every behavior, every pattern you have tried and failed to think your way out of. The lesson is always specific to you. The framework for finding it is what Self Healing 4D provides.
The spiral does not end. My own excavation continues, moving now toward older and deeper layers. That is not failure. It is how consciousness-as-ground works. It reveals itself in its own time, through the very experiences that appeared to obstruct it.
The wounds are not obstacles. They are the curriculum.
